Free CPU for EOS transactions on EOS Authority Wallet

We are happy to provide free CPU for EOS transactions on the EOS Authority Wallet. This free CPU service is for EOS token holders who need access to CPU on the EOS Mainnet but are locked out of performing transactions on the EOS Mainnet owing to CPU congestion. We worked with the Greymass block producer team to bring this to users. The Greymass team are well known community members who have been providing essential tools to the community.

How does it work?

EOS blockchain provides free transactions to token holders. However when a lot of CPU transactions are flooding the EOS network, EOS enters a congestion mode which increases the staked CPU requirement to allow for transactions. You can see CPU scaling in action in realtime where you get a view of transactions on EOS.

What do I need to do?

Free transactions are managed by EOS Authority wallet seamlessly. If your CPU goes below a certain threshold, it automatically moves into the free mode and lets you sign a transaction by yourself.

How do I approve transactions?

This is an important step. You are responsible for verifying the actions you are about to sign with your wallet. It is critical that you understand what you are doing.

This is an example of how Scatter will show the additional action. This relies on the smart contract and CPU billing system provided by Greymass. When user submits a transaction, the first one is a noop (No operation) and it assures billing is taken care of by the Greymassfuel account.

These account are used by Greymass: Greymassnoop and Greymassfuel. There are no other accounts as of this writing.

Keep your private keys safe. You won't need to use it directly anywhere. Make sure you understand the transactions you sign with your wallet.

Will it be free in future?

As of now it is free to use within reasonable limits, also you this is a simple process within the EOS Authority wallet. We will be reviewing this with Greymass team who maintain the contracts and fund the CPU for users. There are plans to make this a paid service in future.

If you'd like to make an actual donation to this effort, you are free to transfer tokens to the greymassfund account. This account is owned and operated by Greymass. Any tokens sent to the greymassfund directly will be considered donations and not refunded.
